Four distinguished guests including, David L. Joyce, President and CEO of GE Aviation and Bob McDonald, Chairman of the Board, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Procter & Gamble Company, will receive special honors at UC’s Commencement Ceremony on Dec. 11.

Mr. Joyce is paving the way for a unique partnership between GE and UC’s College of Engineering & Applied Science (CEAS) and College of Business – a partnership to create a research and development center to establish a model for future technology development.

“He fully understands that long-term development of talent and the harvesting of ideas will be accomplished most successfully by stable and meaningful relationships between business and higher education,” says Carlo D. Montemagno, CEAS dean and Geier Professor of Engineering Education. “UC has prospered because of this relationship and will continue to do so.”

Bob McDonald will address graduates at the University of Cincinnati Commencement Ceremony in Fifth Third Arena at Shoemaker Center. The theme of his address will be “Make a Difference.”

During the ceremony both Mr. Joyce and Mr. McDonald will be awarded  Honorary Doctor of Commercial Science degrees. The honorary degrees recognize their attainment of extraordinary distinction.
