Remembering Richard S. Newrock

Richard S. Newrock...  Distinguished Physicist, outstanding educator, forward thinker and friend.

We at CEAS are saddened by the passing of former College of Applied Science Dean, Richard Newrock. During his tenure as dean, he was a strong advocate for STEM education and students’ growth and development. He enthusiastically promoted CAS and its engineering technology programs. He was a respected and cooperative colleague who worked to ensure a smooth transition, joining the College of Applied Science and the College of Engineering. Following the merger of the two colleges in 2009, Dr. Newrock returned to the department of physics as a faculty member where he remained until his death.

A “celebration of life” servicewas held on Sunday, June 16, 2013 in the Baur Room at CCM. Memorial contributions may be made to the William Newrock Scholarship Fund at the University of Cincinnati Foundation, P.O. Box 19970, Cincinnati, Ohio 45219.

A time of reflection as our past leaders fall - recent passings.
