Architectural Engineering Technology

NOTE: Admission to the AET program has been suspended and we are not accepting further applications for the program at this time.

The Architectural Engineering Technology Program leads to a Bachelor of Science degree. The program synthesizes the aesthetic, technical, and functional elements of building design and construction. The underlying philosophy of the program is to prepare graduates to work with architects and the supporting engineering disciplines of structural, mechanical, and electrical engineers. The academic focus of the program is applied technology in construction project delivery systems - how to coordinate and manage the production of construction drawings, specifications, and other related documents. Coursework emphasizes professional communication and decision-making processes that enable the successful integration of the construction disciplines.

The Architectural Engineering Technology degree is accredited by the Engineering Technology Accreditation Commission of ABET, 111 Market Place, Suite 1050, Baltimore, MD 21202-4012 – telephone: (410) 347-7700 . If an AET graduate intends to pursue state registration as a professional architect, then upon graduation he or she should apply to an NAAB accredited professional degree program in architecture, the Master's of Architecture (M' Arch).
