Biography

Jing Shi holds two Ph.Ds, the first in Materials Engineering from the University of Science and Technology in Beijing, China in 1998, and the second in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University in 2004. He earned his Bachelors of Science in 1992 in Materials Engineering, also from the University of Science and Technology in Beijing, China. For ten years he worked at the North Dakota State University where he was made a full professor in 2015.

Shi has conducted about 1.8 Million dollars’ worth of funded research projects and another $60,000 worth of industry-funded capstone projects. He also actively serves on many Journal Advisory Boards as well as professional leadership committees. Additionally, he has also actively served as a faculty advisor to several student groups, chaired many faculty programs, and personally mentored many PhD and MS candidates through graduation.
