Women in Engineering and Applied Science Summer Camp

Week of July 18-22, 2016

Survey the World of Engineering!

This one-week day camp will allow you to develop your creativity as well as provide you with the opportunity to meet and speak with working engineers. For part of the camp, you will work on campus with different engineering departments, learning and completing hands-on projects to better understand the breadth and variety of different engineering fields. For the remainder of the camp, you will visit various corporate engineering plants such as General Electric, Procter & Gamble, and Northrop Grumman Xetron to meet professional engineers and see their work in action. Throughout the week, you will also take part in teamwork activities, group projects and sessions to learn about college preparation, approaches to teamwork, professional development, and more.

Summer Camp Hours:

Monday - Thursday: 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Friday: 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. (Parent luncheon begins at 11:45 a.m.)

Eligible Participants:

 Must be a female entering high school in Fall 2016. Thirty-five students will be selected from the application process and must have a complete application by February 19, 2016 to meet the priority deadline.


A fee of $250.00 per student is required. Lunch each day, camp materials, transportation to and from field trips, and a luncheon at the Faculty Club (with two additional guests) on Friday afternoon will be provided.

Application Procedure:

The application for the Women in Engineering & Applied Science 2016 Camp will go live on Monday, February 8, 2016 and applications must be complete by February 19, 2016 to be considered for priority admission. Students will be notified by March 4, 2016 of their status regarding acceptance in to the program. Due to the popularity of the program, admission will be competitive and based on all components of the application.

Thank you for your interest in the CEAS summer camp.  The application deadline for the 2016 camps has passed and additional submissions cannot be accepted.  Applicants who submitted their materials by the priority deadline of February 19th will be notified of the status of their application by March 4, 2016.
