  • UC International is pleased to announce a call for proposals for Faculty-Led Study Abroad Mentoring Grants. The purpose of the Mentoring Grant, funded by UC’s Third Century Planning, is to support the development and sustainability of education abroad opportunities for UC students. These grants are offered in support of the UC2019 goal of increasing the number of students studying abroad to 1,700 per year. These awards are to be used for UC faculty and staff who have not previously led a short-term education aboard program, who would like experience in doing so. The grants will allow these faculty and staff to be mentored by a faculty/staff member who is experienced in leading student groups on short-term education aboard programs. The grant will provide funding for the recipient to travel with a study abroad course in 2015-2016. Information, including the application can be found here.

The deadline for the submission is 5:00 p.m., Friday, September 18, 2015.

Award announcements are anticipated within a month following.

The call opens on September 14th and ends on October 11th.

In the past we have had faculty members who have been selected for this award and have come back with amazing long-term projects. UBx will take from 1-3 UC faculty members in this year’s call.

Unlike other opportunities, this is a research collaboration activity with limited teaching expectations. The University of Bordeaux pays a stipend to cover costs for spending one to six months at Bordeaux.  More details are on the webpage.

Please contact Oxana Prokhorova Director, Global Engagement  with any questions.
