UC Chapter of Sigma Xi Now Accepting Nominations/Applications
The UC Chapter of Sigma Xi is now accepting nominations/applications for the following awards: 2013 Sigma Xi Young Investigator Award, 2013 UC Sigma Xi Student Grants-in-Aid-of-Research Award, 2012-2013 High School Science/Math Teacher of the Year Award.
- The 2013 Sigma Xi Young Investigator Award recognizes a junior faculty member at UC for their early career distinguished research accomplishments in a field of science or engineering.
- The 2013 UC Sigma Xi Student Grants-in-Aid-of-Research Award is a $3,000 award bestowed to three full-time matriculated undergraduate and graduate students in all areas of science and engineering.
- The 2012-2013 High School Science/Math Teacher of the Year Award is annual award of $300 given to an outstanding teacher as it recognizes and honors excellence in high school mathematics and science (biology, chemistry, physics, ethics in science etc.) teaching and the mentoring of high school students (Grades 9 – 12) to pursue advanced education in science majors.
