Dr. Paul Anastas Presents "Designing Tomorrow" - Jan 18

Dr. Paul Anastas

Design doesn’t happen by accident - it requires thoughtful planning and deliberate execution. By using sustainable design principles in tandem with holistic approaches and systems thinking, we can most effectively design our products and processes to protect and even improve upon human health and the environment.. While there are numerous examples of excellent work in this field, we’ve realized only a fraction of the power and
potential of sustainable innovation and design.

Taking cues from nature, scientists from industry, academia, and government have proven that green design and sustainable innovation can yield both increased performance and superior environmental protection. By incorporating sustainability principles and environmental impact into our design and performance criteria, we can meet the needs of the current generation while preserving the ability of future generations to meet their needs.

Dr. Paul Anastas is the Assistant Administrator for the U.S. EPA Office of Research and Development, a Science Advisor to the EPA at their headquarters in Washington DC, and the “father” of green chemistry.
