Men in Engineering and Applied Science Summer Camp

Men in Engineering & Applied Science Summer Camp July 20-24, 2020

For rising 9th through 12th grade males

This one-week day camp will allow you to develop your creativity as well as provide you with the opportunity to meet and speak with working engineers. For part of the camp, you will work on campus with different engineering departments, learning and completing hands-on projects to better understand the breadth and variety of different engineering fields. Throughout the week, you will grouped in teams and take part in teamwork activities, group projects and sessions to learn about college preparation, approaches to teamwork, professional development, and meet UC Engineering and Applied Science students! You will also have the chance to visit multiple engineering companies such as Procter & Gamble, Northrop Grumman Xetron, and Rockwell Automation to meet professional engineers and see their work in action.

Camps run Monday through Friday, 9 AM-4 PM, concluding Friday with a banquet for campers and a guest. All students are expected to commit to the entire week of the program and should have no other obligations during the week. 

2020 Camp Information


The cost to attend University of Cincinnati’s Men in Engineering & Applied Science Summer Camp is $275. It covers all project materials, transportation once on campus, and meals. 


It is not required for students to stay with us on campus. On campus housing options are available if you are traveling long distance or for any students who would like to stay on campus. Students will share an apartment style room with other camp participants. There will be evening activities and sessions required for participants staying on campus. Trained residence counselors will supervise the students for all evening activities.


A complete application includes the online form and a letter of recommendation. This letter must come from a teacher, counselor, or other non-family member who can speak to your interests, abilities, and motivation for considering or potentially pursuing engineering/applied science fields. It should be sent to by the recommender and must be received by Monday, February 24th at 11:59 PM EST.

Applications must be complete by Monday, February 24 at 11:59 PM EST to be considered for admission. Students will be notified by early March of acceptance in to the program. Due to the popularity of the program, admission will be competitive and based on all components of the application.
