Women in Engineering and Applied Science Summer Camp

For rising 9th through 12th grade females

This one-week day camp will allow you to develop your creativity as well as provide you with the opportunity to meet and speak with working engineers. For part of the camp, you will work on campus with different engineering departments, learning and completing hands-on projects to better understand the breadth and variety of different engineering fields. For the remainder of the camp, you will visit various corporate engineering plants such as General Electric, Procter & Gamble, and Northrop Grumman Xetron to meet professional engineers and see their work in action. Throughout the week, you will also take part in teamwork activities, group projects and sessions to learn about college preparation, approaches to teamwork, professional development, and meet UC Engineering and Applied Science students! On campus housing options available if you are traveling long distance. Camps run Monday through Friday, 9 AM-4 PM, concluding Friday with a goodbye banquet with parents.

Application Information

A complete application includes:

  • the online form 
  • a letter of recommendation. 

The recommendation letter must come from a teacher, counselor or other non-family member that can speak to your interests, abilities and motivation for considering or potentially pursuing engineering. The letter should be sent to by the recommender. Decisions on application will be made by the beginning of March.
