Mammography : Online

CERT1

Why study Mammography : Online?

The online Mammography Certificate program is designed to prepare graduates for eligibility to apply for the post-primary certification examination in mammography offered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. It is also designed to meet or exceed requirements set forth in the Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA) for minimum didactic and clinical standards for mammographers. 100% of the didactic portion of the program is online.

Students are only admitted to the program in fall semester so please apply by the July 1 deadline! The curriculum is designed to be completed in two semesters (one year) but students may spread it over two years if they choose.

Students may also apply all mammography course credits toward the Bachelor's Degree program in Radiation Science Technology which is also 100% online. For more information on this degree please visit the program webpage.

Admission Requirements

To be admitted to the Mammography certificate program, applicants must demonstrate certification as a radiographer with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. Applicants must also provide certified transcripts documenting the completion of an associate of applied science (AAS) degree with a minimum final grade point average of 2.5.
In order for students to be successful in this program they must have the personal skill set to meet deadlines, communicate effectively, and perform basic computer functions. This program requires independent learning with the faculty member as a facilitator of learning. Students must also obtain their own clinical site and clinical preceptor.
This program is designed to prepare the radiologic technologist for a career as a mammographer.
Students should contact Professor Julie Gill at julia.gill@uc.edu for an advising appointment or to ask questions about the Mammography Certificate program or the Radiation Science Technology Bachelor's degree program. Both of these programs are online.
You can earn a degree from the University of Cincinnati and never have to come to campus!
