UC’s College of Engineering & Applied Science (CEAS) presented President Ono with a check for $3,855 on April 17. The funds were raised through adjunct assistant professor Greg Sizemore’s Leadership and Decision Making class in support of his outreach efforts for new donors to the 100K Strong Challenge.

President Ono served as the featured guest speaker during Sizemore’s Wednesday evening class, during which Sizemore and the class surprised President Ono with the check. President Ono then surprised the class with his own commitment  — $10,000 from the President’s Transformation Fund to be directed into the scholarship fund that Professor Sizemore initiated several years ago.

The funds raised by Sizemore’s class added 100 new donors to Proudly Cincinnati, the most ambitious campaign in the university’s history. The university is striving to secure 100,000 donors by June 30, 2013. More than 96,000 donors have contributed thus far.
