Available Software

Autodesk has changed its educational licensing model and, as of March 2026, no longer offers new network or multi-seat licenses. Our existing Autodesk network license will expire in October 2026.

CEAS performs clean software installations each semester using the latest available versions and updates. Most current Autodesk applications installed in our open and classroom labs now require individual account-based sign-in and can no longer be configured to use our existing Autodesk network license server.

As a result, all CEAS users must have an Autodesk Education account and remain signed in to that account while using Autodesk software in a CEAS lab.

Please complete the following:

1. Visit the Autodesk Education website.
2. Create an Autodesk account using your UC email address. Faculty and adjunct faculty should register as educators; students should register as students.
3. Complete Autodesk’s educational eligibility-verification process. Autodesk may request documentation, and verification can take several days, so please complete this process before you need to use the software.
4. After your eligibility is confirmed, use the same account to sign in to Autodesk applications in CEAS open labs and classroom labs.

If you already have an Autodesk account registered with your UC email address, do not create another account. Sign in and confirm that your educational access is active.

An Autodesk Education shortcut has also been added to the desktop of every CEAS lab computer for convenient access to the registration and sign-in website.

• Microsoft Azure Dev Tools for Teaching Subscription - As a member of Microsoft Azure Dev Tools for Teaching and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics), OCC (Office of College Computing) is able to provide Microsoft Software to students and faculty at the College of Engineering and Applied Science. The intent of the program is to provide Microsoft tools and technologies to students and faculty at no cost, subject to the terms of the program.  The current agreement is valid through December 31, 2024. It is not guaranteed that the agreement will be renewed after that date. • Minitab – Minitab licenses are available to all CEAS students.  You can access Minitab from app.minitab.com, and use your UC email to login.  You will be prompted to select Single Sign On (SSO), and get a DUO authentication request
• NI LabView - Install instructions and license key can be provided to CEAS students and faculty.  Applicable CEAS faculty can provide instructions and key to their students.
• Siemens Software 
  • Download Siemens software
  • Siemens software is available to CEAS faculty and students who are registered with the college. This software may not be distributed otherwise. Download CEAS software.
    
  • Siemens STAR-CCM+ - Students and faculty can download the software, gain access to e-learning courses (foundation, multiphase, heat transfer, optimization, etc), access tutorials, technical support, documentation, course supplements, obtain certification, and more. 
• SolidWorks - Student Engineering Kit (SEK):  Limited student activations available starting in July of each year for participating courses only.  Per CEAS's license agreement, software media cannot be distributed. Please visit https://www.ceas3.uc.edu/solidworks/ to obtain instuctions on installing the software.
  
• Tecplot - Install instructions and license file can be provided to CEAS students and faculty.  Come to Mantei Center (ERC) 636 during business hours to obtain.

CEAS software installed in the college computer labs can be accessed by remoting into one of the lab machines at:  https://ceas3.uc.edu/remoteaccess. Note: You must first be connected to UC's network through UC_Secure or VPN.
