Why study Nanoscience and Nanotechnology?

Nanotechnology is an exploding field where materials are created through the control of matter on the nanometer-length scale, at the level of atoms and molecules, and then combined into larger structures with profoundly different physical, optical, chemical, and mechanical properties. Nanotechnology is expected to enable revolutionary advances in materials, electronics, photonics, and medicine.
