The goal of our Natural Language Processing Lab is to advance the understanding of human language and cognition, and develop AI systems that better assist people in their daily lives.
We are passionate about exploring cutting-edge advancements in GenAI and large language models. Our lab focuses on a broad range of topics in NLP and ML such as retrieval, reasoning, and multimodality—essentially empowering machines to evolve in ways that mirror and surpass the subtlety and richness of the human mind.

Tianyu Jiang

I am an assistant professor in the Computer Science department at the University of Cincinnati. I received my Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Utah, advised by Prof. Ellen Riloff. My main research interests lie in the area of Natural Language Processing (NLP), specifically in large language models (LLM), multimodality, commonsense knowledge acquisition, information extraction, and frame semantics.
