Fire Science Scholarship Application

Please complete the scholarship application by December 3, 2021 and the Awards Committee will use that application for all scholarships

• Barbara Barkley Memorial Scholarship: $1,000 
• Bennett Family Scholarship: three (3)- $1,000 
• Chief William Flamm Memorial Scholarship: two (2)- $2,000 

Awards Selection Committee: Program Chair Lawrence T. Bennett, Esq; Lt. Brian Carlson, Anderson Township FD; Captain Randy Hanifen, PhD, West Chester Township FD; Fire Chief (ret.) William Kramer, PhD, Deerfield Township Fire Rescue.

Essays can be single or double spaced, with one inch side margins, using a font size no smaller than 10. For all scholarships, please submit an essay answering the following question:

• Why a degree in Fire Science and this scholarship would enhance my career and personal life?

Finalists will be chosen based on the essays, scholastic achievement and prior evidence of leadership capabilities, and may be invited to a telephone interview with the Selection Committee before the recipients are announced. Announcement of the selected recipients will be notified before the end of Fall semester.

Only applications submitted with the essay, which do not exceed maximum of 2 pages, will be considered. Questions please contact the Fire Science Program Coordinator, Raena Hoskins.
